Myrtle Beach’s Newest Attraction is Set to Install Central Hubs and Complete the Light Show
June 22, 2011, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Representatives from SkyWheel Myrtle Beach today announced that crews will begin work on the final phase of construction at the SkyWheel today.The SkyWheel, located at 1110 North Ocean Boulevard, expects this activity to last approximately one week and result in a delayed daily opening of the SkyWheel. Two giant center-piece hubs with densely positioned LED clusters are to be hoisted 100 feet into the air to be set in the middle of both the north and south faces of the SkyWheel. Crews from across the country will be on hand to assist with the heavy lift operation. This added dimension will complete an already elaborate light show. During this construction phase beginning today, the SkyWheel will be open to the public at 1:00 pm and close at midnight (weather permitting).
