Disney+ weekly advance streaming.

Mangaka Junta Shima's completed series makes the jump to Gokushufudou levels of minimalistic animation, considering it's J.C.Staff and series composer Susumu Yamakawa.

Strawberry Prince's Rinu for the OP and Yabai T-Shirt Ya-san's ED is alright.

The running joke between 24-year-old "Tetsuko the Iron Mask" Ayano Tanaka-sensei and her homeroom student of Murai, the former's obsession of video games has her looking at him exactly like the protagonist of her favourite Otome video game, Hitotose. Even his friends of Kiriyama and Hirai advise him to reconsider, but he sure doesn't give up. Even sharing cat pictures of Murai's cat Tao sure doesn't faze him the slightest.

Both Tanaka-sensei and Murai going to the same bathhouse is too much of a coincidence lols, but getting her Otaku secret being revealed to him is the worst thing ever, even if it costs all of her nerves, and Murai's rizz just peaks above all of her senses lols. The career guidance session to block his dream of marrying Tanaka-sensei, Murai understands the priority, and even destroys her gauge of delusion going Super Saiyan to defeat said evil spirit lols. Even the manga artists of the Nishifuji sisters Yuka and Hitomi suspect Murai's fluttering of love, though they did help clear the air for the boys when it comes to understanding who Hitotose is, and Murai wanting to learn more to become her fav by playing the game, and he's willing to become their Doujinshi cosplay character in exchange.

Despite the minimalistic animation, it's Hi Score Girl and Shinigami Bocchan director Yoshiki Yamakawa who will make all of the difference in enjoyment, and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised. Hope this can last the long run.

The animation on this is... mediocre. This is literally a colored manga with voice lol

I don't know if I'll continue watching this... I didn't like the comedy to be honest, in fact nothing about it pleased me.

Absolutely hilarious.

Love the art style, love the way the animation has been done on a small budget with animators still getting the very best impact out of what they can afford, love the voice actors, love the story, love, love, love, love, the humor.

First time in a long time I have rated an anime from its first episode, and this is easily a 10.

So unique, so funny, so fun. :)

Tanaka and Murai's designs really look like Nami and Sanji, and I even saw a character who looked exactly like Luffy. xD
The first episode was okay, but the humor wasn’t particularly sharp, and there was a bit of an overuse of the same gags. The animation felt very cheap, almost on the same level as Yami Shibai.

Didn’t realize a show for Fall 2024 was starting this early, do I gotta start checking the LiveChart a month before new shows air now, damn you Disney lol. But that aside, damn this was really good actually despite the lack of animation, I think they’ve more than compensated for it with the creative use of the budget, and like someone else mentioned this is a bit reminiscent of the way Yamishibai looks, and I wouldn’t think I’d be into a full length show done that way but I gotta say they’ve won me over. But that’s not just due to the art and animation style of the show, it’s also because it’s very damn funny, there weren’t a lot of jokes in this one that got me to straight up laugh but I was certainly amused with most of the bits, I also loved the funny faces which I think will only get better as the relationship progresses between Tanaka and Murai.

And speaking of the main couple, I’m already really enjoying the moments between these two, my favorite was probably when they met outside of the bathhouse, a great mix of sweet and hilarious thanks to the visualization of Tanaka’s nerves being chainsawed lol, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of these two along with the supporting characters, Murai’s friends are a hoot as well as those two Murai simp sisters. And the OP and ED are very awesome, not just in the visuals but the songs as well, I can definitely see these being favorites of mine by the end of the fall season, which I guess this show will end in November with such an early start. Not sure if I can call this the start of the Fall 2024 season or not, but it’s one I’ll be looking forward to for sure.

Yeah I wish they’d stop doing this cause I have no interest in watching an animatic but I guess it has an audience

Should the fact that characters scream for no reason be funny?

@PaperCutAssassin This is what I thought also. This shouldn't be considered anime. I watch anime for the animation. This feels more like reading a colored manga, slower.

Enjoyed some of the comedy and the story seems at least interesting on a surface level. Don't know if I can dignify it's existence by watching a second "episode."

Censorship is vandalism.

The minimalistic animation and artstyle gives off that Gakushifudo vibes and it honestly works out in favour.

Too many kiddos can’t appreciate good humour and excellent art. Yes, it’s more of a manga than an anime, but Youko Hikasa voicing main girl(?) in a cool inappropriate romantic comedy for nerds is just sublime.
I hope the ‘I can’t stand the poor animation’ snobs leave soon so this weekly chat can be more fun…

So I wasn't sure about this, and... If they just did it with 2 teachers instead or something I could give a 6/10 at least. But my brain keeps fluctuating between 4/10 and 7/10 with sensei ever giving in going to 3/10. While 17 and 24 year olds together aren't necessarily wrong (where I live they can even bonk UNLESS), sensei is in a position of power, "loving" your students hear to me is akin to "loving" your kids. I was 23-24 when was foster parent to 6-17 year olds (1x 17 year old male, 1x 17 year old female, 2x 15 year old male, et cetera) and just the thought of what is going on in this anime disturbs the living hell out of me. (I'm 25 now and feel like even 22 is young).

I have faith in this teacher to stay strong, she really is struggling bad and I don't blame her. He's hot and matches the 2D person of her dreams and is actively trying to increase his attraction. It has aspects of being all over the place making me think of a really low quality version of Romantic Killer that also instead of being same age, is a somewhat disturbing age gap that is inherently wrong due to position of power.

5/10 for now, with 2/5 for this episode. It has a lot of things I like and made me laugh, but the moment the teacher breaks, 3/10 and drop most likely. STAY STRONG!!! (note, he looked good before, RIP hair)

The ugliest, most ill-intentioned animation I've ever seen. It's similar to the 4 rated isekai anime that was released this season too... Even the fan-made animation is still much better... I feel like the seiyuu's talents are being wasted by the bad animation that Jcstaff presented for this anime!!! 😭even though the storyline is quite interesting and the seiyuu really put their talent into making the characters very alive... Please really don't ruin this anime any further... It's better not to make it into an anime!!. This anime actually seems to destroy the original work🤬🤬🤬

(Bahasa Indonesia)

Omg shes's like me fr, can't even cringe.obviously the artsyle is on purpose like househusband type of gag romance. The serious scene however look pretty good, so it definitely not because of budget. I love it

Regarding the animation; there is none.
Regarding the story/plot; can't comment, unable to watch.
More of a story book with distracting video effects overlaying static slides.

I can't decide whether I hate it or love it, but there's something about this one that's really calling to me. I think they really hit the nail in the head with Ayano's VA, her performance is so refreshingly earnest that it's hard not to like it. And I personally feel like the bad animation really plays into the comedy of it all.

The story is actually not bad. I wish they used real animation. Same thing happened with The Way of the Househusband, and I haven't touched the second season.

I think this is adapting the whole thing, so I'll just have to get used to it. It's the same director of Hi Score Girl so I have hope.
