Chancellor Len Broughton Jr. will swear commissioners R. K. Adcock Jr. and Earl Layman.
Elections won't be the same. any more at the Flenniken (School polling place in the 25th Ward. Mrs. Fannie L. (Aunt Fannie) Webb won't be there.
Mrs. Webb, 89, of 405 Blount died at Baptist Hospital yesterday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Roberts Mortuary. She will be buried in Wiodlawn Cemetery.
For longer than most South Knoxvillians remember, Mrs. Webb has been voting. She worked many, years for her favorite candidates Republicans. One friend said yesterday that she doubted that Mrs. Webb ever missed an election.
However, she had had to go to the vot-: ing place in a wheelchair the past time or two. She owned several small houses in her neighborhood. She charged low rent on them. And, according to friends, if a tenant had financial troubles, she sometimes charged no rent at all. She was the widow of John Webb, a contractor, who died more than 40 years ago.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Cooper, four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. CAR "Knorville's Most Progressive Mortuary" In Memory of Those Interred This Week HIGHLAND MEMORIAL 4301 Sutherland Ave: 588-0567 "'We Care" Infant Ruth Marie Ogle Miss Geraldine DeBusk Mrs.
